King's Park Academy

Personal, Social, Health And Citizenship Education

At King’s Park Academy, we use the SCARF resources developed by CORAM Life Education to deliver our PSHE curriculum. SCARF is closely aligned with the DfE requirements for statutory Relationships and Health Education, and mapped to the PSHE Association programmes of study. Through PSHE and RSE provision, we aim to develop pupils’ understanding of  emotional well-being, healthy lifestyles, relationships, and safety. Pupils learn to navigate social situations, make informed choices, and understand the importance of physical and mental health.

SCARF: Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, Friendship.

As part of our PSHE & RSE curriculum, children learn about the changing body during the ‘Changing Me’ units within SCARF. These lessons are statutory, however, each year we organise a parent meeting for parents/carers to have the opportunity to understand what their child will be taught and to ask any questions.
