Geography

At King’s Park Academy, our Geography curriculum is designed to spark curiosity and inspire a lifelong passion for understanding the world and our place within it. Within each project delivered through the Cornerstones curriculum, through the study of key geographical concepts, fieldwork, and geographical enquiry, children develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding to explore an interconnected and ever-changing world. 

• Key Geographical Concepts: Our curriculum emphasizes key concepts, such as place, space, scale, interdependence, environment, cultural diversity, and sustainability, helping children build a comprehensive understanding of geography. 
• Curiosity About the World: We aim to develop children’s natural curiosity about their surroundings and the wider world, fostering an understanding of their place within local, national, and global contexts. 
• Interconnected World: By studying physical and human geography, children explore the interdependence of people, places, and environments, gaining an appreciation for how the world is connected. 
• Inspiring Passion: Our curriculum nurtures a sense of wonder and responsibility for the planet, encouraging children to become informed, empathetic, and proactive global citizens.
